From Our Guests
"The Miller Clan LOVED our sleigh ride on Christmas Eve. Magical!! Full moon. The Works. We Southerners had quite a time. Thank you for your hospitality. "
- Sheila Miller
How is it scenic when it is dark?
On a clear night, the stars are spectacular, and the moon can
illuminate the snow so much you could walk out in the darkness
and not need a flashlight. Even if it’s snowing, the ride
is beautiful. Each sleigh has a light, and the light illuminates
the snowfall and the steam coming off the horses. Either way,
it’s everything and more than you have imagined.
How long do the rides last?
All rides last about 40 minutes - They depart from and arrive
back at the clubhouse.
How far away are you from Breckenridge?
We are 4 miles North of downtown Breckenridge and 4 miles South
of Frisco. Expect about a 15-minute drive. Click

Are the toilets outside?
After a hard day of skiing and shopping, we wouldn’t want
to go outside either. The clubhouse has full restroom facilities.
There is also a full bar, a roaring fireplace surrounded by comfy
overstuffed leather couches and endless views.
What should I wear?
You need to dress warmly as temperature fall rapidly after sunset.
Please wear warm footwear and good gloves. We do provide warm
fleece blankets, and the horses have a heater system, but we haven’t
worked out the emissions problem. The seats are not heated.
Where do we park?
Plenty of free parking is located at the Clubhouse at the Gold
Run Nordic Center.
Are kids allowed?
Kids particularly like the ride and the huge draft horses. Kids
3 and under are free.
Can we take pictures?
The horses are not camera shy, but some of the wranglers are.
If you ask them nicely, they may smile for you (the wranglers
that is!)
What credit cards do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa and Travelers Checks. Sorry, we do
not accept personnel checks. We may accept company checks as pre-payment
for larger groups.
What kind of horses do you use? Don’t they get
cold?
We use four Percherons Draft Horses, and four Belgian Draft Horses.
A team of two horses pulls each sleigh. The Percherons are about
16 hands tall, and weigh about 2,000 pounds each. The Percherons
were originally from France and were bred to take knights into
battle. The Wranglers will tell you more during the ride. Each
team gets a day off every third day. They are immune to the cold,
and prefer 0 degrees versus the summer heat.
Do we have dinner in a tent?
No. We use the clubhouse at the Gold Run Nordic Center for all
our activities.
What is the menu?
After being seated, you will be offered a salad with your choice
of two dressings and soft chewy rolls with butter. Good luck deciding
between a London Broil seasoned with Corriander and Teriyaki or
a Young William Chicken which has been stuffed with Brie Cheese
and Forest Mushrooms. To accompany these yummy entrees are Garlic
Mashed Potatoes and California Blend Vegetables. If you have room,
you can finish up with creamy cheesecake and make one last decision
between blueberry or strawberry toppings.
If we have a large party, can each family pay separately?
Yes by Mastercard , Visa or Travelers Checks. (Cold cash is always
acceptable!)
What is your cancellation policy?
A 48-hour cancellation policy will be strictly enforced for all rides. Reservations are required. Please call 970-453-4405
as soon as you foresee a problem or have any additions or deletions
to your party. Prices do not include taxes or gratuity for servers
and wranglers.
Can we special order for dietary restrictions or children?
Many dietary requirements can be accommodated and chickens fingers
can be prepared for the little ones. Please provide at least 24
hours notice or request at the time of your reservation.
Is transportation provided?
We only provide sleigh transportation. We cannot come and pick
you up or arrange other transportation.
Do you have a printable brochure?
Yes. Click here to download our
complete brochure (pdf 714k). You may also download printable driving directions(pdf 145k)
